Just finished a series of voiceovers for a new fishing series called Caught in the Act, put together by Bob Roberts and Stuart Walker. It’s going to be sold through Daiwa as soon as the last touches are put to the editing, but I’ve had a sneak preview and the filming looks fantastic. It’s not all about catching big fish (though they manage 2lb rudd, 4lb perch, 14lb barbel and 35lb carp, all from day-ticket or club waters), and the emphasis seems to be on fishing for the sheer pleasure of it, rather than just catching whoppers on boilies while sleeping in a bivvie. Plenty of centrepins, quill floats and trotting as well as some great stalking stuff. The highlight, though, is probably the underwater photography, especially of 2lb rudd feeding on the Fens. You can take a look at some of the underwater stuff here, though I can’t show you any of the actual video. There will probably be odd tempters put up on youtube over the next couple of months. An embarrassing footnote: they wanted to film me hard at work in my office/library. Those who buy the DVDs will see the unholy mess I work in. But you’ll probably like the Fish Tales pinball machine.
